Introduction

IA4SI recognizes that your privacy is very important to you and that you have the right to control your personal information. We know that providing personal information is an act of trust and we seriously take that into account. This privacy policy forms part or our Terms of Use (TOU) and should be read with our TOU. Your email address will NEVER be displayed on this website. We will not email you anything unrelated to the Impact4you. If your email address is supplied, it will be stored securely. As IA4SI is an EU-funded project, we also endeavor to keep our information policies in line with guidelines from issued by the European Data Protection Supervisor: http://ec.europa.eu/justice_home/fsj/privacy/guide/index_en.htm

Collection of Your Personal Information

When you register to any Impact4you service, we may ask for your personal information such as contact information. By entering your details in the fields requested, you enable Impact4you to provide you with the services you select. Impact4you may also use cookies (please refer to section below for details) and collect IP addresses. This information is not used to develop your personal profile and the log files are regularly purged. We also use your IP address to determine whether you are accessing the services from Europe or not. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant service. In the case that you wish to cancel your registration as Impact4you member, once your account is deleted, it stays on the system for a period of one year for administration purposes before being deleted automatically. Where you contribute to the Impact4you services, IA4SI will generally only keep your content for as long as is reasonably required for the purpose(s) for which it was submitted and in any case no longer than  31/12/2016.

Use of Your Personal Information

Impact4you will use your personal information only: to contact you for reasons related to the service you have signed up for (e.g. to provide you with password reminders or to notify you that a particular service has been suspended for maintenance), to contact you about a submission you have made, including any content you provide as logging information: when you use the Impact4you services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.

Cookies

When you visit the Impact4you platform, we may send one or more cookies (a small file containing a string of characters) to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. We may use cookies to improve the quality of our service by storing user preferences and tracking user trends, such as how people search. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.

Information security /Information Disclosure / Sharing

This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.

Any information you provide will be held securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Your personal details will not normally be disclosed to third parties. In some circumstances however we may need to disclose your personal details to a third party, so that they can provide a service you have requested, or fulfill a request for information. Any information about you that we pass to a third party will be held securely by that party, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, and used only to provide the services or information you have requested. You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you at any time.

Access to personal information records

Impact4you provides personal data access rights to all signers and others who leave personal information on the Impact4you platform. Impact4you respects the data access rights of those who entrust information to the Impact4you platform. Impact4you complies with International protocols in this regard. International standards allow for small administrative fees to be applied in some cases, where records are requested.

If this privacy policy changes in any way, we will place an updated version on this page. Regularly reviewing this page ensures that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we will share it with other parties.
